Chris

Drone Pilot, Head of Training, Editor

Chris is an ex-British Army officer, Apache helicopter pilot, instructor and our lead pilot at Skycast Media.  In charge of day to day training, flying and pilot development. Chris has a passion to promote and educate safety within the industry and with amateurs alike.

Chris has managed to merge his love of flying and his dedication for flight safety with his passion for delivering great aerial filming footage using the latest Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

When he is not flying a drone he will be droning on about flying, however amazingly, customers seem to love him.

Richard

Camera Operator, Photographer, Editor, Associate Trainer, IT Development

Richard is an ex-Royal Navy pilot officer and instructor and is our lead photographer and media specialist. He has a passion for the end result which, at the end of the day, despite all the hype and publicity with drones, is really what aerial filming & photography is all about.

Richard began work at a local TV filming company in the midlands specialising in promotional filming & film editing before joining the military. It was soon after that he began to develop his passion for photography.

Having travelled much of the globe courtesy of the Royal Navy he now finds himself back in Shropshire.  The West Midlands has been an ideal place to develop the aerial filming business, due to its scenery and central location in the UK.

Owen

Camera Operator, Director of Photography, Editor

As the director of photography, Owen is focused on producing the very best out of our drones, our gyro cameras, our 3D cameras and our DSLR cameras.

Formerly a Royal Navy Officer, Pilot & Instructor, Owen is one of those annoying people who can do anything.  He will pick up a golf club having never really played and proceed to thrash you even though you have been playing for years. As you can imagine, Owen is not very popular in the team but he is useful.

Incredibly arty and creative, he talks at great length about “light” and is extremely capable at getting the best out of any camera work.

In joining Skycast Media, Owen has developed his creative side further and has even managed to pretend he can’t do some things so as not to be quite so annoying.  These things include, paying for anything, driving or sharing.

Andy

Commercial Development & Marketing

Andy is our newest addition to the team and comes at the perfect time for this expanding market. With his wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of commercial development and a keen eye for business strategy, Andy will be guiding Skycast Media in its growth, competitiveness and creativity in this rapidly growing industry.

After leaving the Royal Navy as a fully qualified Aircraft Engineer, Andy moved into industry specialising in sales and management within the engineering sector. Working closely in asset management and business development he has been involved in helping and streamlining large key industry players along with aiding the development of small start ups. Andy comes to the team with a keen eye for what customers want and yet is able to see new and exciting avenues for this rapidly expanding business sector. Andy and the team at Skycast Media are looking forward to what 2017 brings to the drone industry and to the media sector as a whole.
